Western’s Caine Savage lands first Division I-A scholarship offer

Just call it the first of many scholarship offers to come.

Western All-County wide receiver Caine Savage (5-11, 175) landed his first Division I-A scholarship offer on Thursday courtesy of Nevada, Pioneers football coach Dan Davidson said.

The speedy junior set Orange County single-season receiving records for receptions (124), yardage (2,103) and touchdowns (32).

Savage’s play with his brother, Cassius, and record-setting quarterback Anthony Munoz helped power Western to the CIF-SS Division 11 title, the first section title in school history.
