All-County defensive end Cade Albright of San Juan Hills, one of Orange County’s breakout performers during the fall, has committed to BYU, the Stallions announced.

Albright (6-5, 215) earned first-team All-County honors in December after racking up 19 sacks for San Juan Hills, which captured the Sea View League title and reached the CIF-SS Division 2 quarterfinals.

He made an official visit to BYU in mid-December, San Juan Hills coach Rob Frith said.

Albright picked the Cougars over UCLA, Utah and Utah State. He reportedly visited UCLA in late November.

BYU finished 7-6 last season and won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Albright could sign with BYU on National Signing Day on Feb. 6.
