Mötley Crüe will be grand marshals at this year’s NASCAR Auto Club 400 in Fontana

Racing fans will get the chance to see members of Mötley Crüe together March 17 at this year’s NASCAR race in Fontana.

The rock band will be grand marshals at the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400, appropriate since the band’s hit “Kickstart My Heart” has a charging riff that sounds like a motor changing gears and has been used in car commercials.

Joining the band will be cast members from “The Dirt,” the Netflix Mötley Crüe biopic that debuts on the streaming video service on March 22.

They are Douglas Booth, who plays Nikki Sixx, and Machine Gun Kelly, who plays Tommy Lee, according to a press release from Auto Club Speedway.

Mötley Crüe, known for hits such as “Home Sweet Home,” “Dr. Feelgood” and “Shout at the Devil,” no longer tours, but band members got together to record songs for the movie.

The band performed its final Southern California show in Staples Center on New Year’s Eve in 2015.

Lead vocalist Vince Neil will perform April 5 at the grand opening of the Canyon Montclair, a new concert venue 15 miles from the Speedway.

The race starts at 12:30 p.m. March 17. it will be televised by the Fox Broadcasting Company.
