The Register’s Orange County girls basketball Top 25 for Monday, Feb. 25:

ORANGE COUNTY TOP 25

(Records through Sunday; PRV is previous ranking)

1. Mater Dei (27-4; PRV: 1): Fifth-seeded Monarchs play No. 4 Bishop Montgomery in the first round of the Open Division regionals Wednesday at at El Camino College.

2. Rosary (22-8; PRV: 2): Royals earned the No. 2 seed in the Division 1 regionals and play host to Narbonne on Tuesday.

3. Troy (22-9; PRV: 3): Sixth-seeded Warriors play host to section champion Lakeside in a Division 1 regional opener Tuesday.

4. Brea Olinda (21-5; PRV: 4): Ladycats are still racking up victories but have missed regionals the past two seasons.

5. Esperanza (22-8; PRV: 5): Aztecs played Lakeside much closer than Oxford Academy did in the Division 2A final Saturday. Lakeside made 11 3-pointers in a 73-50 victory but only beat Esperanza by seven in early December.

6. Oxford Academy (29-4; PRV: 6): Fifth-seeded Patriots look to bounce back from losing in CIF finals by playing host to No. 12 Hamilton of Los Angeles in Division 2 regionals Tuesday.

7. Huntington Beach (24-7; PRV: 7): The Roosevelt team that edged the Oilers in the quarterfinals earned the No. 7 seed for the Division 2 regionals

8. JSerra (17-11; PRV: 8): The Chaminade squad that beat the Lions in the second round won the CIF-SS Division 1 crown on Saturday.

9. Aliso Niguel (23-5; PRV: 9): Wolverines excited to return four starters next season.

10. Santa Margarita (20-10; PRV: 10): Eagles earned the No. 9 seed in the Division 2 regionals and play at No. 8 Flintridge Prep of La Canada on Tuesday.

13. Sonora (20-6; PRV: 13)
