Highlights and top scorers from the Orange County basketball games on Friday, Nov. 30.

BOYS BASKETBALL

El Toro and El Dorado played an NBA-length basketball game Friday night, going four overtimes before El Toro posted a 90-82 victory in the Grizzly Invitational at Godinez.

It was 58-58 after four quarters, then 65-65, 69-69, 76-76 and 90-82.

Nick D’Amato scored 21 points to lead five El Toro players in double figures. Drake Martin had 16, Stevie Gutierrez 14, Zach Raigosa 13 and Jacob Henriquez 12.

Santa Margarita beat Coronado 79-70 in the first of two games in Las Vegas. Jake Kyman had 26 points, Max Agbonkpolo 23 and Kendall McHugh 12 for the Eagles. Santa Margarita (5-1) will play Clark at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Aidan O’Neill had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Saddleback Valley Christian licked Locke 87-52 in the Coyote Classic. Gavin O’Neill led the SVC with 25 points on five 3-pointers. Justin Davis added 14 points.

Thomas Feldman’s 3-point basket with 2.5 seconds remaining lifted Beckman to a 61-58 nonleague win over Trabuco Hills.

Cypress hit the 20-point trifecta in an 89-65 win over Crenshaw. Jared Brown, Anthony Tello and Clifton Patterson each scored 20 for the Centurions.

Nico Dasca pumped in 33 points for Costa Mesa, but the Mustangs bowed to Aliso Niguel’s balance 83-75 in the Grizzly Invitational. Max Horowitz had 17 points, Trent Giffin 16 and Isaiah Frazilus 15 for the Wolverines.

 

GIRLS

Orange Lutheran won the La Habra Tournament, beating Arcadia 56-44 in Friday’s final. Heather Park led the Lancers with 27 points and was named Tournament MVP. Klein added 14 points for Orange Lutheran (8-1). Nicole Khanthaphixay made the all-tournament team.

Canyon squandered a 15-point first-half lead, then held on to beat Cerritos 59-57 in overtime in the Orange Panther Classic semifinals. The Comanches will play Oxford Academy for the championship at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Canyon led by five points late in overtime, until Cerritos hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left to make it 59-57. The Comanches were able to run out the clock without getting fouled to seal the victory.

Mia Farrell had 25 points on four 3-pointers, along with six rebounds and five assists for Canyon. Minna Yu added 14 points on three 3’s, Taryn Uyematsu had  11 points and four steals and Evangelia Kitsigianis grabbed 13 rebounds.

Crean Lutheran had two players eclipse 30 points in an 85-41 win over host Fullerton in the Vernie Ford Classic. Taylor Feldman had 32 points and Shannon O’Malley 31 for the Saints. O’Malley made the all-tournament team.

Latavia Miller scored 30 points to lead Los Alamitos past Woodbridge 85-37 in the South Coast Classic. The Griffins will play Box Hill, Australia in the final at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sydney Gandy added 15 points and seven steals and Molly Clarke doled out 11 assists for Los Al. Erika Maggard led Woodbridge with 23 points.

Whittier Christian walloped La Mirada 72-22 in the third-place game in the La Habra Tournament. Joleen Corona scored 21 points on 5-of-7 3-poiont shooting and made the all-tournament team. The Lady Heralds (6-1) will host the Leon Davis Classic next week.
