Rain, and in some cases the potential for mudslides, has lead to the Thursday closures of schools to a major theme park:

Pepperdine University:
“Due to rain in the area and uncertainty with road conditions, classes are canceled and offices are closed on the Malibu campus for today, November 29, 2018. All other campuses remain open at this time.” – – Post on the university’s website.
Santa Monica Mountains:
Before the storm hit, the National Park Service shut down trails and parking in the area Wednesday evening.
Due to an incoming storm, NPS trails & parking areas will close at 6pm TODAY. Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa will remain open to the public. The park will announce a re-opening after staff can assess trail & facility conditions for potential safety hazards. #woolseyfire pic.twitter.com/d7TBtSWbfb

Lake Elsinore Unified School District:
Because of rain and the threat of flooding, Rice Canyon Elementary, Withrow Elementary, Terra Cotta Middle and Luiseno School in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District were closed.
