A brush fire broke out near Griffith Park Friday morning and has charred about two to three acres, fire officials said.

The fire, which is in heavy brush, began shortly after 7 a.m. and is burning behind the Los Angeles Zoo. No injuries and damages have been reported.

Fire engines are not able to reach the location and crews are hiking in and determining a method of getting water to the fire, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart in a statement.

She said she did not have any new information.

A fire helicopter is on the way.
