Analysis: Laguna Beach is an interesting team in this division. The Breakers grabbed attention two weeks ago when they beat Ocean View 38-21. That win looked better last week when Ocean View clobbered Western 45-7. Breakers quarterback Andrew Johnson has passed for 2,472 yards and 33 touchdowns. Laguna Beach plays host in the first round to Saddleback Valley Christian, which finished second to St. Margaret’s in the San Joaquin League. The other two O.C. teams in this division also play each other in the first round – Northwood vs. Rancho Alamitos at Bolsa Grande High on Friday. Rancho Alamitos won the Garden Grove League championship. The Vaqueros have won six in a row. Their losses were to 8-2 Savanna and 9-1 Garden Grove. Northwood is one of the more-improved teams in county football. The Timberwolves were 2-8 last season and this season tied with Irvine for second-place in the Pacific Coast League behind Woodbridge. Top-seeded Linfield Christian’s only loss was in the Ambassador League to league champion Aquinas of San Bernardino.
