Presidential candidate hopeful Senator Cory Booker let his inner geek out when he toured the San Diego Convention Center exhibit hall floor on Comic-Con International Friday, July 19.
News that the Democratic candidate was heading to the pop-culture convention first appeared earlier Friday in a tweet from his national press secretary, Sabrina Singh.

But his appearance on the convention center floor still caught many fans pleasantly off guard.

Booker took photos with convention goers and even checked out some of the booths and experiences, specifically the Star Trek booth.
One fan took the opportunity to ask a very important leadership question: Kirk or Picard? Without missing a beat, Booker answered his favorite captain was Jean-Luc Picard.

It wasn’t clear if the New Jersey democrat was joined at the nerdy gathering by his Comic-Con pro girlfriend Rosario Dawson, but convention attendees seemed to have welcomed Booker with open arms.
