Marvel fans received a pot of gold during Saturday’s panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego when Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced Phase 4 of the Marvel universe.
The announcement was teased in a timeline that includes 10 movies and shows, breaking it down to three releases in 2020 and seven in 2021.
There were plenty of firsts during the 90-minute showcase, including a movie with an all-Asian cast, an animated series, a female Thor and a push for Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. And there were celebrities, lots of them.

Next up is “Dr. Strange The Multiverse of Madness” with a release date of May 7, 2021 and what better way to announce it than with Dr. Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch. Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen will also be in the sequel. The Hall H crowd also sang “Happy Birthday” to Cumberbatch.

And we are not done yet! Another Thor movie was announced, titled “Thor Love and Thunder ” starring Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi. But here’s the surprise, there will be a female Thor, played by Natalie Portman, who appeared in the first movie. In true Marvel fashion, they gave Portman a hammer to make it official. The movie has a November 21, 2021 release date.

First, there was Thor, and then there was Loki. The “Loki” Disney+ exclusive comes out in spring 2021 and would there even be a Marvel panel without the presence of Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston?

And two big pieces of news for the Marvel Universe that broke the Twittersphere: “Black Widow” and “Blade.”
“Black Widow” has some familiar and new faces – the movie stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz. It is directed by Cate Shortland and will be released in May 2020.

So here is Phase Four. Feige made sure to say “we didn’t have time to talk about Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Captain Marvel 2” – and “We didn’t get to talk about Fantastic Four. Didn’t get to talk about mutants.” So are all those and Blade Phase five? Hmmm! pic.twitter.com/mjwXPfW3TU
