You can get your car washed and support a good cause when Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group launches Car Wash Week on Saturday, May 4.
The first week of every month (Monday through Sunday) local residents may come at their convenience to Doheny Village Car Wash and request the Leatherneck Special and a percentage of the proceeds of any service will go to the support organization.
The group will kick off the fundraiser with a free barbecue on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Damian Collins of Stillwater and Waterman’s Harbor will be providing all the fixings for a delicious lunch, and the DPSG Baking Brigade will be providing homemade goodies. There will be live music, a “combat photo booth” and the opportunity to visit with Marines and learn about DPSG projects benefiting Marines, sailors and their families from the 5th Marine Regiment.
