ORANGE COUNTY TOP 25

(Records through Sunday; PRV is previous ranking)

1.Huntington Beach (19-9; PRV: 1)

Oilers’ final margin against Norco in Division 1 semifinals was a bit deceiving. They lost 9-2 but took a 2-1 lead into the fifth inning.

2. Santa Margarita (25-4; PRV: 2)

Eagles’ comeback effort against Great Oak looks even better after Wolfpack played eventual champion Norco tough in Division 1 final.

3. Orange Lutheran (23-7-1; PRV: 3)

Lancers’ wild 2019 included a 15-0 victory against eventual Division 1 runner-up Great Oak in late February.

4. Los Alamitos (19-9; PRV: 4)

Suggested No. 1 offseason goal for the Griffins: Improve an offense that was shut out five times.

5. Pacifica (17-4-1; PRV: 5)

Mariners’ coaching vacancy looks attractive with Bickar, Brito and Kloss back in 2020.

6. Cypress (24-8-1, PRV: 10)

Senior-laden Centurions flew under the radar most of the spring but showed their talent the last 2 1/2 weeks in Division 2.

7. Esperanza (19-9; PRV: 6)

Coach Ed Tunstall calling sophomore Hannah Coor the best outfielder he has seen in his nearly 20 years at Esperanza.

8. Mater Dei (15-11-1; PRV: 7)

Monarchs set to return the most talent among the Trinity League’s Big 3.

9. Marina (16-9; PRV: 8)

Young Vikings should be inspired that Cypress went from a first-round loss in ’18 to champs in ’19.

10. Edison (16-10, PRV: 9)

Battle-tested Chargers would have made wild Division 2 even more exciting.

11. Canyon (19-9-1; PRV: 11)

13. Dana Hills (18-5-1; PRV: 12)
