Buena Park man arrested after groping woman, exposing himself in Cerritos grocery store, authorities say

A 25-year-old Buena Park man was arrested last week after he allegedly grabbed a woman and then starting masturbating at a grocery store in Cerritos, authorities said.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, the man was inside a Sprouts grocery store when he grabbed a woman’s buttocks while she shopped, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. When the victim went to report the incident to the store’s manager, the agency said, the man exposed himself and masturbated while watching another woman shopping at the store, which is at 11900 South St.

The store manager kept the man in the store until deputies arrived and arrested him, the Sheriff’s Department said. He was identified as Daniel Tejeda and booked on suspicion of indecent exposure and sexual battery. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bail and released the next day.

Detectives are looking for any witnesses to the incident. Deputies say Tejeda could be a transient and rides an older, black mountain bike. Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Sgt. Gilbert Ramirez at 562-860-0044.
