Winter Sports Teams: How to report your scores to the Register

Coaches and team representatives are encouraged to report their team scores and player stats to the Register after each game or event.

The information can be submitted the following ways:

1.) report the information by calling the Register (714-796-7804) between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. the day of the game.

2.) email the information to the Register (preps@ocregister.com) by 9:45 p.m. the day of the game.

The information will be published online each night during the season.

If you have questions, please contact us during the hours of 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The stats and information the Register will accept for each sport. We’ve included the format that teams should use if they email the information.

BOYS & GIRLS BASKETBALL

1.) Final score.

2.) Game highlights or stats for up to 3 players per team.

Example:

Santa Margarita 56, Canyon 51

Santa Margarita: Johnson 21 points; Phillips 13 points; Anderson 9 points, 12 rebounds.

Canyon: Martinson 6 3-pointers, 19 points; Sampson 5 blocks.

GIRLS WATER POLO

1.) Final score.

2.) Up to 3 goal scorers for each team.

3.) Goalie saves by player for each team.

Example:

Fountain Valley 13, Westminster 9

Goals: Elliott (FV) 6; Smith (FV) 3; Johnson (W) 4; Briggs (W) 4.

Saves: Garcia (FV) 5; Allen (W) 7.

BOYS & GIRLS SOCCER

1.) Final score.

2.) Game highlights or stats for up to 3 players per team.

3.) Goalie saves by player for each team.

Example:

Canyon 2, Anaheim 2 OT

(Canyon won in penalty kicks, 5-3.)

Canyon: Collins 1 goal, 1 assist; Kirkpatrick 2 assists. Anaheim: Carpenter 1 goal; Holland 1 goal.

Saves: Alexander (C) 6, Sampson (A) 5.

WRESTLING

League and nonleague matches: Final score only. The Register will not publish individual match results for nonleague or league matches.

Tournaments: The Register will publish the top five team scores and last names of division champions if the information is submitted by 9 p.m. on the day of the competition.

Example:

BEACH CITY CLASSIC

At Fountain Valley High

Team results: 1. TeamA 123 points; 2. TeamB 111 points; 3. TeamC 98 points; 4. TeamD 86 points. 5. TeamE 71 points.

102: Easton, Marina

109: Fisher, Edison

116: Roberts, Los Alamitos

List all division winners in this format.
