Re “Don’t blame Trump for shootings, pipe bombs” (Letters, Oct. 30):

Letter writer Leticia Rodriguez seems to think someone going after Trump’s enemy list means he somehow does not share some of the blame for those actions. Then ignorantly comparing it to the Pulse nightclub tragedy.

Really? I don’t remember ever hearing Obama bashing the LGBT community at rallies; don’t ever remember him saying nightclubs were the enemy of the people.

What I do remember is a president comforting a nation after a tragedy. Can you say the same now? I think not.

Improve animal welfare

Re “No on Proposition 12” (Endorsement, Oct. 24):

It was extremely disappointing to see the newspaper’s recommendation to vote no on Proposition. 12.Voting against making the lives of farm animals even incrementally better shows either a lack of understanding of how miserable these animals’ lives are or a complete lack of caring about them.

Prop. 12 abolishes all cage confinement for egg-laying hens and requires enrichments such as perches, nesting boxes and dust bathing areas. It would ban the sale of pork from pigs in gestation crates as well as the veal from calves in cruel confinement crates while setting the highest legal space requirements for both.

Is this not the least we can do? Voting yes on Prop. 12 will send a strong message to the Legislature that people care about this issue. Let’s not wait to see if they “tackle this issue.” We can improve animals’ lives now! Vote yes on Prop. 12.

Well-heeled immigrants

The ignorance displayed by our president knows no equal. His plan for stemming the flow of illegal immigrants coming to our shores is simple. He wants to build a wall along our southern border with Mexico. If the wall should ever get built, I predict the business of selling ladders in Mexico will skyrocket.

The short-sightedness displayed by King Trump forgets about the other locations immigrants enter this country.

If a wall should ever be built to deter illegal immigration, that wall should be constructed at the international terminal at LAX. Many well-heeled immigrants fly into the U.S. in a big shiny airplane. They come in on a tourist visa and never leave.
