The Orange County Register offensive player of the week for Nov. 12, 2018:

Name: Bru McCoy

School: Mater Dei

Year: Senior

Noteworthy: The wide receiver had five receptions for a season-high 189 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score to help the Monarchs defeat Mission Viejo 56-17 in the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. McCoy caught touchdowns of 72 and 57 yards and scored on a 13-yard run — all in the first half. “Bru was on fire,” Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson said. “The playmakers did all the things I talked about (before the game).”

Earlier in the week, McCoy committed to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game on Jan. 5.
