FANTASY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys: It’s amazing what a change of scenery can do for a talented receiver. Since arriving with the Cowboys, Cooper has 18 targets. Last Sunday night, against the Eagles, he was consistently open, and this week, he’ll face the league’s worst defense in passing DVOA. The Falcons have been torched by top receivers this season. Two weeks ago, they gave up 124 yards to Washington’s Maurice Harris. If Cooper continues to be a focal point in the game plan, then he should have plenty of opportunity in this one.

Quarterback: Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens. OK, so don’t bench your reliable starter to use Jackson instead. But if you’re desperate, the rookie’s first NFL start could come against a Bengals defense that’s absolutely collapsed over the past month. Jackson’s real fantasy value is on the ground, where he could rack up points as a dual threat.

Running back: Philip Lindsay, RB, Broncos. When LB Denzel Perryman missed time last year, the Chargers run defense struggled to fill the void. Now that Perryman is out for the season, they’re relying again on undrafted former USC linebacker Hayes Pullard. That should mean ample opportunity for Lindsay on Sunday.

Wide receiver: Corey Davis, WR, Titans. The talent was always there, and as the Titans have ironed out their offensive issues as of late, Davis’ star qualities are starting to show. He has 11 receptions over the past two weeks, and up against a questionable Colts secondary, in a game that might become a shootout, Davis could have a big afternoon ahead.

Tight end: Gerald Everett, TE, Rams. This is another semi-deep cut, so proceed with caution. But Everett’s time to shine in the Rams offense certainly seems to be on the horizon. He had a touchdown last week, and with Cooper Kupp out for the season, there’s plenty of targets to be meted out in the Rams passing game. Everett could step up in a high-scoring game this week.
