The Register’s Orange County football defensive player of the week:
Brendan Hammitt
Canyon
His team lost to Huntington Beach 41-15, but Hammitt turned in an excellent performance Friday. The junior outside linebacker had two sacks, an interception, caused a fumble and had four solo tackles, including one for a safety. Hammitt (5-10, 185) added two assisted tackles. The Comanches play at San Juan Hills on Friday.
